Transmission Maintenance Why you Should Not Ignore it.

Transmission repair

1.Low/Dirty Transmission Fluid

If you neglect low, leaky, or dirty transmission fluid, it can damage your whole transmission or the parts within it. Transmission fluid gradually becomes dirty over time, which can put extra stress on your transmission system's function. Low transmission fluid can cause your transmission to overheat from there not being enough fluid to cool it. Keep an eye on your transmission fluid levels and for signs of leaking. This simple fix can severely damage your transmission when ignored, so getting your transmission fluid services can prevent you from a major problem.

2.Low Engine Coolant

Low levels of engine coolant can also cause overheating. Engines and transmissions use the same cooling system to provide optimal operating temperature throughout. With that being said, when an engine overheats, so does your transmission. Low coolant levels or high engine temperatures mean a problem, so it should get serviced as soon as possible to prevent transmission damage.

3.Small Transmission Problems

No matter how small a transmission problem may seem, it is important to get your vehicle diagnosed as soon as you can. Transmission problems can go from small to large very quickly. Any transmission problem is a problem. When you address the need as soon as you notice, it could save you from expensive repairs, unnecessary damage, or transmission failure. For example, low transmission fluid replacement is a simple repair with a big impact.

4.Skipping Transmission Maintenance

Regular transmission can save you from expensive repairs. The recommendation for a transmission flush/fluid change is every 30,000-60,000 miles, depending on your type of car and how often you drive it. Transmission fluid becomes dirty and contaminated over time from normal wear and tear. Be sure to bring your vehicle in for regular Transmission maintenance to catch issues early.
